I am constantly researching and testing different types of eating to find what is best for me, and best for everyone who reads this blog. Over the past 6 months I have been experimenting with a paleo diet. If you have been living under a rock, and haven’t heard all the buzz about paleo, let me explain what it is.
Paleo is based on eating what our cave man ancestors ate. This includes, grass fed meet, fish, vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds. Paleo generally doesn’t include dairy, but I have eliminated it and reintroduced it, and for me dairy seems to be just fine for me.
Here is a look at my refrigerator:
As you can see, this is very meat and vegetable heavy. This video will make vegetarians cringe. I personally believe that including some grass fed meet is the best way to eat, but also respect those who choose to be vegetarian. If you are struggling with whether or not to eat meat, I recommend the documentary: In Search of the Perfect Human Diet.
I have been especially active over the past month and find that at times I am not getting enough carbs into my body, so I eat more fruit, but I am going to be adding steel cut oats, and brown rice back in and see how I respond to that.
But like I mentioned in the video, I am leaner then I have ever been without trying to be on a specific weight loss diet. I have no digestive issues and no bloating, which is definitely something I experience when I eat more grain based foods.
