Input Needed on Upcoming Book Movie Trailer

By April 28, 2011 11 Comments

Hey everyone!  I am very thankful for this blog, and I consider those of you who read it to be part of my extended family.  Sorry if that sounds a little cheesy, but I am thankful to have you in my life and thank you for taking a few minutes out of your days to see what I am saying and hopefully adding value to your life.

As my book gets closer to being being released, (sorry no definitive word on when yet) I have decided to put a large amount of effort in the launch to help it achieve Amazon #1 best seller.  Yes, I am committed to trying to achieve that coveted spot.  Of course I can’t do that without all your help and support.

Something unique I am investing in, is creating a Hollywood quality book trailer.  I have only seen this done one other time from my mentor Tim Ferris.  Here is the trailer he made for his book 4 Hour Body, that became a best seller overnight.  Now keep in mind this book is targeting a younger male crowd.

I have met with the video team that is in charge of making my 60 second book trailer.  The goal of the video is to evoke enough emotion to draw a woman into the video and subsequently want to order the book.

So here are my questions.  Those of you with creative and imaginative personalities will enjoy this.

-What desired outcomes are most important to you… ie do you want to feel attractive, have more energy, be an example for your kids etc.

-What specific images and video clips could you see being powerful?

-What should the mood of the trailer be?

-What type of music should be used?

-What types of locations should be use to shoot the video?

-What are some of the components that you would like to see in the video for maximum emotional pull?

You don’t have to answer all of these and you can add your own answers to questions I didn’t even ask.  Thank you in advance for helping me out in this project.  I can’t wait to show you the final video as well as the release of the book, most likely sometime this summer.

Please write your suggestions in the comment box below.

Thanks,

Dustin
