Happy Holidays Everyone. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a joyous and safe New Year.
Christmas is truly a season for giving. I have found as I’ve gotten older that it really is so much more meaningful to give than to receive. So, in order to spread joy this season, I’m going to give you that opportunity! So many of you have been involved in health and wellness for such a long time that I’m hoping you might be able to give me some suggestions and advice on a couple of things.
The first question I have is for those of you who do yoga or pilates. My quadriceps get very tight. I have worked out for many years yet whenever we do leg work my quads get tired very quickly. They can feel tired just during the warm-up. I stretch after working out but feel that maybe what I’m doing just isn’t enough. I was wondering if maybe doing some yoga exercises might help in this area. What do you think?
While kind of on that subject, I’ve been told that when one does abs, flexibility of the spine helps determine how high you might be able to crunch up (or roll down if starting from an up position). Again, even though I’ve worked out for years, I can not effectively do a V-sit or other ab work that makes one sit all the way up. I don’t feel it’s the abs so much as the back. Any information here? Maybe yoga would help too.
Now on to some food suggestions. I go to boot camp at 5:30 am. After a shower I go to work and I usually just eat a bowl of cereal. However, now I’m tired of the cereal. It would be way too easy here to eat something bad so I’m wondering if anyone has a suggestion of a healthy alternative. At work I have a small refrigerator and a microwave. That’s it in terms of prep materials. I’d appreciate any ideas you might have here.
So those are the questions I have. It is easy to do research but I’d like to hear from people about things that have actually worked for them.
