I hit the ground running, attending boot camp three times a week and adopting some healthy eating habits I had never considered before: reading labels; eating clean; eliminating enriched flour, corn oil, processed soy and added sugar; reducing alcohol; fasting after 7 p.m. I never felt that I was denying myself, I just made better choices and substantially reduced portion sizes.
Eric: “Since I have joined K2 my life has changed drastically. I found that K2 is filled with some of the most positive, supportive people that I have ever met.”Food has always been a huge part of my life. I celebrated with food, I coped with food, and I even tried to eat away my anxieties. I would celebrate losing weight by treating myself to a sugary dessert. Sadness would be staved off by food, leading to feeling guilty for overeating. That guilt would equal more eating. I was locked in a downward spiral of weight gain and wild weight swings. I jumped from diet fad to diet fad but nothing worked for me, especially with my incredibly sedentary lifestyle. Every day I could see the scale tipping slowly higher and higher.
Since I have joined K2 my life has changed drastically. While I still dislike getting up early I found that K2 is filled with some of the most positive, supportive people that I have ever met. All of my fears were for nothing. Having people that support me, even in trying times, has been great and I have actually found myself liking the exercise. I never thought that I would say that. While I still lapse in my eating habits I have learned so much about eating healthy and how that affects me. It has been a uniquely positive experience.
